Carpenter

Te Tūranga /About the role:

We’re looking for a skilled and autonomous Carpenter to join our Maintenance team at Silver Fern Farms Finegand, one of New Zealand’s leading beef and lamb processing sites. This is a hands-on role, in a great team, where you’ll be working across a variety of maintenance and construction tasks to keep our site operating efficiently and safely.

Te Mahi /Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out general carpentry work, including repairs, maintenance, and small projects.
• Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and complies with site requirements.
• Collaborate with the wider maintenance team to support operational needs.
• Diagnose and resolve issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.

You’ll be a practical, solutions-focused person who takes pride in quality workmanship. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Proven experience in carpentry or a relevant trade qualification.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
• Flexibility to adapt to a busy processing environment.
