Plumber

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Plumber and/or Gasfitter/Drainlayer to join our busy team at Smith Plumbing & Gas Limited in Lawrence, Otago. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to take on a diverse range of plumbing, drainlaying and gas fitting tasks across both residential and semi-commercial properties.

What you'll be doing:

• Diagnose, repair, install and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures and appliances
• Perform routine maintenance and preventative work on plumbing infrastructure
• Read and interpret plans, diagrams and specifications to complete plumbing projects
• Collaborate with clients, builders and other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed to a high standard
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
• Comply with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for:

• A recognised plumbing and/or gasfitting and drainalaying qualification and current registration as a certified Plumber
• Proven experience as a Plumber, ideally within the residential sector
• Strong technical skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex plumbing issues
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients
• A commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship
• A full, clean driver's licence
