Healthcare Assistant – Part Time (42 hours per fortnight | 0.55 FTE)

Mō te tūranga | About the role:
We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistant to join our inpatient ward team. You will work a set roster of 6-hour shifts (3pm-9.30pm) which includes one weekend per fortnight.

You’ll play a key role in supporting patients and the wider healthcare team by providing hands-on patient care and essential housekeeping tasks. Under the guidance of nursing staff, you will:

• Assist with personal hygiene, mobility, positioning, and rehabilitation
• Provide patient watches or chaperone support as needed
• Deliver meals and maintain ward cleanliness
• Restock supplies and supporting clinical staff as required

• Works exceptionally well in a team environment
• Brings a compassionate, can-do attitude
• Ideally has experience in the health sector
• Holds (or willing to work towards) an NZQA Level 3 Health and Wellbeing – Health Assistance Certificate

Kā mea whakaputa o mātou | What we offer:
We offer competitive pay aligned with Health New Zealand rates: Step 1 $28.81 to Step 5 $33.73 per hour (plus penal rates).
