New for 2026 – Gravel Bike Event
We’re thrilled to introduce a NEW Gravel Bike course, designed for riders looking for a scenic and enjoyable challenge. The course features rolling terrain, spectacular coastal views, and a mix of surfaces that showcase some of the best riding our coastline has to offer. It’s the perfect event for gravel enthusiasts and riders wanting a fresh Coastal Classic experience.
Expanded E-Bike Categories
Following the growing popularity of e-bikes, we’ve added dedicated classifications to give participants more ways to be involved:
- E-Bike Mountain Bike Race – for those wanting to test themselves against the clock and the course.
- E-Bike Cruisers Ride – a more relaxed, social option allowing riders to enjoy the scenery, atmosphere, and camaraderie at their own pace.

TM Events Group brings the Harraways 5k Family Fun Run/Walk, Under 14 Beach Race, 12Km NZ SAFETY Blackwoods Moturata Views Recreational Walk, Unifone 12k Craypot Run and Smiths Sports Shoes 21k Akatore Challenge Run to our coast using gravel road, farm paddocks, coastal tracks, beaches and wetlands.
Either Run or walk and take time to take photos of breathtaking scenery while exploring rarely seen coastal views. Stop at the Seascape Cafe for complimentary coffee/tea with muffin and admire the views north and south of the Otago coastline.
