Let us salute our fantastic free ferry. The Punt at Tuapeka Mouth is the only one its kind left in the whole Southern Hemisphere!
It literally goes with the flow of the mighty Clutha river and can even carry campervans.
This popular public punt runs daily between 8 and 10am and 4 and 6pm river levels permitting. It is still a vital crossing for local farmers.
Tuapeka Mouth was an inland port for paddle steamer boats up until 1939.
