This seaside village in The Catlins is famous for it's surfing as well as one of New Zealand’s most iconic lookouts. Nugget Point showcases amazing views, a historic lighthouse and wildlife. All just a short drive from Clutha District's central town of Balclutha.

Kaka Point settlement is named after the Kaka parrot and still has a beautiful bush walk. The most famous resident was Maori Poet, Hone Tuwhare, who spent many years living in an old fashioned crib. There is a brewery, fabulous function venue, plenty of places to stay and a pub by the beach for a Southern drink and meal. You can even kayak around the breath-taking Nuggets, named after Captain Cook because when the sun shines on them, they look like rocks of gold.

Locals love where they live, find out more at http://catlins.org.nz/ and make sure you check out the Catlins Care Code.
