McLean Falls is the highest of The Catlins' wonderful waterfalls and some say the most spectacular in the Southern region.
There are two waterfalls that make up the McLean Falls, an upper and lower. The 40 minute return walk takes you along the Tautuku River which goes through podocarp forest and huge tree fuchsias.
The falls are signposted from the Southern Scenic Route, and is accessed from a gravel access road.
Another iconic attraction Cathedral Caves, one of The World's largest sea cave complexes is close by.
