One of Ngā Haerenga Great Rides of New Zealand where you can soak up the history of early Otago and follow the country's largest, fastest river, the mighty Clutha!
This 73km bike trail embraces Otago’s rich heritage and stunning scenery. Follow in the steps of Chinese gold miners and pioneer settlers who have all made this valley their home.
At the bike trail’s heart is Otago’s original gold town, Lawrence with its proud history and wonderful architecture.
This trail is set to get bigger and better, with the route being extended all the way to Lake Waihola.
The Clutha Gold Cycling & Walking Trail already links with the Roxburgh Gorge Trail which takes you from Alexandra to Miller's Flat.
These are the only mountain bike tracks in the country where you get out on the water!
