We’re currently on the lookout for a reliable, motivated, and friendly team member to join our growing café and takeaway operation. Whether you’re a whizz in the kitchen with years of experience or eager for a career change, this is your chance to become part of a supportive, tight-knit team located in one of New Zealand’s most scenic regions.

Position:
FULL TIME (30+ HOURS PER WEEK)
Opportunities for additional hours available.
Weekend work and nights will be included
(flexible hours can be provided to the successful applicant)

Operating hours of business:
Monday-Sunday
8.00am – 8.00pm

The Catlins Café & Bakehouse Takeaways
3 Main Road, Owaka

Role and responsibilities:
• Provide excellent customer service to customers and guests
• Collaborate and work well with other team members to ensure smooth daily running
• Supporting daily café operations, including food prep, service, and cleaning
• Cash handling and POS operations
• Preparing and serving meals/beverages
• Supporting other staff in tasks

Experience and skills:
• Previous hospitality, barista or kitchen experience desirable
(Not limited to as training will be provided to the successful applicant)
• Baking skills? (You’ve earned brownie points already)
• Excellent communication and literacy skills
• Willingness to learn and grow within the industry
• Ability to work well within a team
• Good time management and diligence when completing tasks
