Applications open - 30th July 2025
Applications close - 8th September 2025
The Clutha Development Microgrant is designed to support local entrepreneurs and startups in the Clutha District to take action on an idea. The goal is to help local founders get over a hurdle or test something specific that will move you forward. We are looking for practical, purpose-driven applications — whether you are testing a prototype, validating a concept, or trialling a service in your community.
The Details
What is a microgrant?
- A small financial boost for people with a business idea — to help you take action and move your idea or venture to the next stage.
What can the Clutha Development Microgrant fund?
- Validating your idea or business model
- Market research and customer identification
- Minimum Viable Product (MVP) development

What do you get?
- A one-off grant of between $500 and $1,500
- An Activator Session with COIN South — to talk through your idea, refine your thinking, and map out next steps
