Nugget Point is a simply stunning setting where the old lighthouse looks out to the huge horizon with the famous golden nugget shaped rocks below.
The sensational viewing platform is one of New Zealand’s most famous lookouts and rightly so! You will have never seen such a big blue expanse of sea and sky!
To make things even more magical if that is possible, there are seals, very rare penguins and sea lions both there and next door at Roaring Bay (where there is a wonderful hide). You might even see the World's smallest dolphins as well.
It's a haven for birdwatchers too!
And what about the spectacular skies....well just take a look at some of the photos...
The lovely seaside village of Kaka Point is just down the road with plenty of places to stay.
Welcome to the captivating Catlins!
