Taieri Mouth is nestled on the coast with the Taieri River estuary sweeping through a bush clad valley to meet the bright white sand at this lovely seaside fishing village.

A great spot for swimming and surfing with the picturesque Moturata Island just off the shore. It is the perfect place to picnic with Livingstonia Park right by the beach. There are wonderful walking tracks like John Bull Gully and the Millennium Walkway.

Taieri Mouth is also the start or finish of Otago's Forgotten Coastal Highway.

The annual Coastal Classic mountain bike and run/walk normally takes place in November. This event is a highlight for the local calendar. For more info go to www.coastalclassic.org.nz
