Taieri Mouth is nestled on the coast with the Taieri river estuary sweeping through a bush clad valley to meet the bright white sand at this lovely little seaside fishing village.
A great spot for swimming and surfing with picturesque Moturata Island just off shore. It is also the perfect place to picnic with Livingstonia Park right by the beach. There are also wonderful walking tracks like John Bull Gully and the Millennium Walkway.
Taieri Mouth is also the start or finish of the Forgottten Coastal Highway.
The annual Coastal Classic mountain bike and run/walk normally in November is a highlight of the local calendar. For more info go to www.coastalclassic.org.nz
