Ready to discover one of Clutha’s best doses of nature? After visiting the historical gold mining reserve at Gabriel’s Gully, head to Greys Dam.

There’s plenty of room to enjoy a picnic or camp down on the water's edge and soak up the natural surroundings and local birdlife. Photographers love the morning and evening reflections on the dam’s surface while autumn brings a beautiful display within the nearby silver beech forest.

Go bush and explore the Otago Dam Track, a two hour round trip that begins at the western edge of Grey's Dam. Check the Department of Conservation website for up to date information, as the track is prone to closures. Keen to learn more about our secret spots in Lawrence? Discover our Top 10 must-do’s here.
