Section Manager - Night Shift
Te Tūranga /About the Role:
The Section Manager – Night Shift is key member of the site senior leadership team and is responsible across night shift for all departments relating to production. Critical to the effective operation of the night shift, the Section Manager will influence and guide their department leaders to deliver production success safely and to a high standard. Strong leadership skills are imperative to the success of this role, and we are looking for someone who has led large, multi-faceted departments with over 100 people.
Finegand is a multi-species site processing both lamb and beef; and operates on a seasonal schedule throughout the year dependent on availability. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to work within the seasonal nature of our business and may be required to work varied hours during off-peak processing times.
Te Mahi /Key Responsibilities:
· Provide inspirational leadership and ownership of the people, production, health and safety, quality and compliance they’re responsible and accountable for.
· A focus on production outcomes ensuring customer requirements are met every time.
· Support the Site Manager and Processing Manager with plant improvement initiatives across all aspects of operations.
· An unrelenting drive towards building a culture which not only aligns with the company values but creates agile teams who work for each other, for the department and for the customer.
· Highly effective communication which enables accurate decision making and high performance.
· Ownership and commitment to continuous improvement through full immersion and engagement with the Streamline program.
· Advice, coaching and mentoring of their direct reports to assist with their development in leadership capability and capacity.
Ōu Pūkenga /About You:
The successful candidate will be experienced as a leader within the food manufacturing industry and ideally have specific skills around training and developing relationships with their team. They will demonstrate experience with developing and driving team culture through leading by example and have a solid understanding of standard production processes and principles.
· Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar senior leadership role
· Sound knowledge of the commercial aspects of food manufacturing and/or meat industry best practice
· Demonstrate understanding of regulatory and hygiene compliance requirements, issues and solutions
· Background in training, coaching and mentoring team members to increase skill and capabilities in all areas of the department
· Successful experience with influencing others and proactively driving a strong culture that aligns with the Silver Fern Farms values – Unstoppable Together, Improving Tomorrow and Always Caring
· Knowledge of employee relations principles and confident with assisting your Team Leaders with workforce management
