Knife Machine Operator

Our Finegand site have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is experienced in Knife Handling and has the skills required to be responsible for operating the knife sharpening machine. The knife machine operator role is initially available for a fixed term period of 8 months.   

This role is ideal for a person who is passionate about knife safety, and ensuring knives are maintained and sharpened daily, allowing people to undertake their jobs safely and easily.

Our ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator and enjoy assisting with various training programmes and liaising with the Site Training department.

We are looking for the following:

•  Experience in knife handling  
• Knowledge of knife anatomy
• Some mechanical knowledge would be an advantage
• Attention to detail and organisational skills
• Sound knowledge of the processing requirements of a modern meat processing plant
• Computer literacy in the Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to work flexible hours in line with department start and finish times
