Calder Stewart is a leading New Zealand property and construction company, delivering innovative, high-quality solutions nationwide. Within our business, ReoXpress plays a critical role in supporting both internal projects and external clients with reinforcing steel supply and expertise.

We are looking for a Detailer to join our team — ideally someone experienced, motivated, and ready to take ownership of their work within an established and capable team.

About the Role

This is a key position within our team, combining technical detailing, commercial responsibility, and production support across the full project lifecycle.

You’ll be involved from initial pricing through to delivery, including preparing accurate material take-offs, building quotations, producing detailing sheets for manufacture, and managing project financials.

Key responsibilities include:

• Interpreting construction drawings and specifications 
• Producing accurate reinforcing material take-offs (BOMs) 
• Preparing customer quotations and pricing submissions 
• Managing variation requests and pricing adjustments 
• Completing progress claims and billing 
• Undertaking job reconciliations and cost tracking 
• Preparing detailing sheets and schedules for production/manufacture 
• Supporting material ordering and resolving on-site queries 
• Liaising with project managers, site teams, clients, and suppliers 
• Contributing to successful project delivery from start through to completion 

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings the right mix of technical ability, commercial awareness, and attitude.

While experience is preferred, we value mindset just as highly — we can train systems and processes, but we’re looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, and takes pride in their work.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in reinforcing, construction, estimating, or detailing 
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings 
• Experience with material take-offs, quoting, and/or project coordination 
• Exposure to detailing software (Graphico, AutoCAD or similar) 
• Confidence preparing production-ready detailing information 
• Strong computer literacy and confidence working across systems 
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability 
• Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
