Services Team Leader

As the Services Team Leader, you’ll be accountable for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all critical site services at Silver Fern Farms Finegand. This role is central to ensuring key infrastructure - including boilers, refrigeration, wastewater, and water treatment systems - consistently supports our processing operations.
You’ll lead a capable services team, coordinate both planned and unplanned maintenance, and ensure all environmental, engineering, and regulatory requirements are met. Through strong leadership and technical oversight, you’ll drive asset reliability, reduce downtime, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement across the site.
This is a full-time, onsite leadership role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a real operational impact in a fast‑paced industrial environment.

You’re a practical, well‑organised leader who combines technical knowledge with strong people leadership. You’ll bring:
- A trade qualification or engineering background
- Experience in services operations or maintenance planning, ideally involving boilers, refrigeration, wastewater, or water treatment systems
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Proven leadership capability, including coaching, training, and developing team members
- Sound computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and database systems
- A proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement
Your ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations, and external contractors will be essential to your success.
Ngā Kawenga / What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading, coaching, and developing the Services team
- Managing planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Ensuring the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of all site services assets
- Monitoring and maintaining compliance with environmental consents and engineering standards
- Overseeing sampling, auditing, reporting, and council liaison activities
- Managing budgets, workload allocation, timesheets, training plans, and rosters
- Supporting project planning, shutdowns, and execution
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to root cause investigations
- Managing contractor performance and site activities
