HOSTEL SUPERVISOR

PERMANENT FULL TIME

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative, and caring Hostel Supervisor to join our team and work in our positive, inclusive, and busy hostel at Telford Campus of Southern Institute of Technology based in Balclutha

About the Role

As a hostel supervisor you would be responsible for providing a caring, safe, and nurturing environment for all the boarding students.

To be successful as a hostel supervisor you'll need to be energetic, enjoy working with young tamariki, and have a strong work ethic with an understanding of what it takes to be part of an inclusive team and have a commitment to building relationships.

Rostered night shift and weekend work. Airport pickups and drop offs. supervision of youth in the evenings and nights. campus security and fire alarms. Administration and good record keeping. Work well with community agencies, stake holders and support services.

Ideal skills and experience you will have:

• You will preferably have experience in working with and caring for young adults.
• An empathetic communicator.
• Efficiency, organisation and have reliable time management skills.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues and be a team player.
• Flexibility to participate in campus activities
• Ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills

It is essential to have Class 1 driver’s licence.

To be successful in this role you should be able to pass a Police Vetting / Vulnerable Children’s Check. For this you must be able to provide some form of identification.
