Parks and Reserves Officer

We’re seeking a detail-focused and community-minded Parks and Reserves Officer to support the effective management of Council’s Cemeteries, Parks, and Reserves.
The purpose of the role:
In this important position, you’ll take responsibility for the monitoring of Council’s Greenspace contracts, ensuring that our open spaces are maintained to a high standard and deliver real value for our community
As our Parks and Reserves Officer, you will carry out:
- Monitoring contractor performance and service delivery against agreed standards
- Auditing maintenance work to ensure quality, compliance, and value for money
- Tracking and reporting on contract expenditure and performance trends
- Supporting planning for renewal and improvement projects
- Liaising with contractors, community groups, and internal teams to resolve issues and identify improvements
This is a role that combines field inspections with office-based analysis and coordination — ideal for someone who enjoys both practical and administrative work.
What you will bring:
- Qualification in horticulture, arboriculture and/or landscaping
- Experience in contract management
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- A practical mindset and commitment to continuous improvement
- A current full driver’s licence
