Assistant Manager (Casual) – Fern & Thistle Luxury Accommodation

Location: Balclutha/Benhar
Hours: Casual – minimum 4 hours per week, with additional cover opportunities

Fern & Thistle is a boutique accommodation just outside of Balclutha, offering luxury stays, a spa, sauna and a welcoming guest experience. We’re looking for a flexible and reliable Assistant Manager to join our small team.

About the Role

You’ll be trained across all areas of our day-to-day operations, including:

• Cleaning and preparing guest rooms to a high standard
• Making beds and maintaining presentation standards
• Answering phone calls and guest inquiries
• Managing bookings and guest check-ins through our online booking system
• Taking payments and handling basic administration

This is a hands-on role that requires initiative, attention to detail, and a friendly attitude toward guests.

Requirements

• Must live locally in Balclutha or nearby
• Flexible with hours and available for short-notice cover
• Reliable, honest, and self-motivated
• Comfortable using computers and learning booking software
• Previous cleaning, hospitality, or customer service experience is an advantage

Hours & Pay

• Minimum 4 hours per week
• Additional hours available for manager cover and during busy periods
• Pay rate based on experience
