District Libraries Manager

Clutha District Council is seeking an outstanding public library manager to lead our District Libraries team.

Role Overview:

The Clutha District Council is seeking a highly skilled District Libraries Manager to lead our libraries network. This role provides the strategic direction and leadership for the effective use of library facilities and resources to provide a platform for community partnerships and collaboration in the development and delivery of services and programmes that:

• Connect people to ideas, knowledge, and each other for personal wellbeing
• Inspire life-long learning, creativity, and innovation 
• Enable people to participate in democratic processes
• Celebrate the district’s heritage
• Enable connected and resilient communities
• Support the wellbeing of communities

 Key Requirements:

• Bachelor of Information and Library Studies, or other relevant tertiary qualification
• Proven success in a leadership role within a public library setting
• An understanding of the development and management of library collections, both physical and digital
• Community engagement experience in the development and delivery of library programmes and services
• The ability to analyse complex issues and use sound judgement to develop innovative and effective solutions
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
• Current Full NZ Drivers Licence
