The Company
Clutha Community Health Company Ltd is a not profit registered charity trading as Clutha Health First (LLC).  The company delivers hospital, community, outpatient and primary care clinical services to the residents of the Clutha District.  

The Role
Reporting to the CEO the position is a key role that will provide strategic and operational leadership across finance, compliance, systems, contract management and payroll.

Key Responsibilities
Supported by an Accounts Administrator, Quality and Risk Management, Human Resources and IT the position holder will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following principal responsibilities:

 

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Lead all finance operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, audit, and payroll
  • Deliver comprehensive and fit for purpose monthly management reports in a timely manner to the CEO and Board of Directors
  • Liaise with the company’s external accounting provider in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Deliver financial modelling, cost analysis, and performance insights to support strategic decision-making
  • Oversee cash flow management, investment tracking, and efficient use of resources
  • Manage company contracts & reporting, creditors & debtor processes, bank reconciliations, tax and legislative requirements, and payroll accuracy
  • Drive continuous improvement, system innovation, and financial process automation
  • Collaborate with operational managers on financial planning and KPI reporting
  • Contribute to risk management, compliance, and strategic safeguarding

Leadership & Business Partnership

  • Lead and develop a small finance team, promoting a collaborative and accountable culture.
  • Deliver timely financial insights to the CEO and senior leadership team.
  • Participate in strategic planning, investment analysis, and commercial reviews.
  • Support health, safety and compliance initiatives as part of broader business culture.
  • Engage with the company’s Board and Finance Risk and Audit Committee on financial matters as and when appropriate

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Standardise and improve financial processes and internal controls across the business.
  • Build and maintain financial models for scenario planning and business cases.

Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies and procedures.
  • Drive and comply with the various accounting principles, tax and HR related legislation and reporting requirements that have an impact on the business.
  • Develop and uphold financial SOPs, particularly in asset, inventory, and cash-flow management.

 

About You
We are looking for a results-driven and collaborative finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with commercial acumen and a pragmatic, hands-on approach. You’ll lead with insight and curiosity and thrive in a fast-moving, growing business.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent experience in accounting practice.
  • 5+ years in financial or business management.
  • Proven leadership and team development experience.
  • Experience leading functions outside of Finance e.g. Property or HR.
