Maintenance Electrician

Te Tūranga /About the Role:

We have an exciting opportunity at our Finegand site for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our large team in 2025. Regardless of if you are coming from a commercial background and looking to upskill into industrial or have industrial electrical expertise and are looking for the path forward in your career, our largest site in the South Island and fantastic, like-minded engineering team, could be just the vehicle to take you there. 

This role is critical in providing electrical services, including the installation and day to day maintenance/ reliability of our ranging industrial equipment, as well as project work both now and in the future. 

Ōu Pūkenga /About You:

Previous experience in FMCG or transferrable processing environments would be an advantage, but the key is the ability to work as part of a team, to identify faults and use analytical and problem-solving skills to provide top level service to the processing plant.  You will have good interpersonal skills and an attitude for getting stuck in to get the job done, as well as thinking outside of the box. We appreciate and encourage new ideas about opportunities to collaborate across our site to ensure we get to the root cause of issues and fix it right – first time. You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects and installation of new site equipment as well as a wide range of electrical applications across the site.

  • Relevant Trades Qualification and Full NZ EWRB Electrical registration.
  • Good knowledge of sound electrical principals and repairs and maintenance procedures on a large industrial processing site.
  • Exposure to PLC and VSDs, instrumentation and control systems.
  • Ability to analyse problems and implement effective solutions in a timely manner and communicate this with those around you. 
  • Be self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a tight knit team of engineering support 
  • Organised, with the ability to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment and lead by example from the front. 
  • Desire to keep learning and upskill – be this in a leadership scope or dual trading into refrigeration or even project design.
