On the shores of the country’s most inland tidal lake. It sits on the SH1 and is close to Dunedin and its international airport. It does have a primary school. The Lake is a firm favourite with locals and visitors for swimming and boating. It is great news that the Clutha Gold Cycle & Walking Trail will in time finish at Waihola. Work is getting underway to extend the route from Lawrence, down through Milton and on to Waihola.

Lawrence is a charming town with a real sense of heritage which is the traditional gateway to Central Otago. You can feel the rich goldmining history in this thriving community which is behind projects like the new aquatic centre. The Clutha Gold cycle and walking trail goes through Lawrence and there is an area school for kids of all ages.

Nearly 2000 people call our 2nd largest town home. Milton maybe close to Dunedin and lie on SH1 but still has a really strong community spirit. There are quality education options and it is the base for some of Clutha’s biggest businesses like Calder Stewart and Pan Pac.

The Catlins

Kaka Point

Around 200 people live the dream in this Catlin's seaside settlement with simply stunning scenery including the deservedly famous Nugget Point. Kaka Point is near Balclutha, there’s a small shop and pub and it is also home to Clutha’s main surf and life-saving club. Just so you know locals call it simply "KP".
