The Regional Volunteer Coordinator is accountable to the Principal Adviser Rehabilitation and Learning for the overall coordination of volunteer engagement, training, administration and monitoring of volunteers within the Southern Region.

 

We are looking for a dynamic hands on person who will be responsible for the management of volunteer services across multiple sites who can assist in our goal of reducing re-offending by supporting a range of activities supplied by volunteers within a custodial environment.

 

This is a challenging and diverse role and the ideal applicants will bring the following:

 

  • A well grounded background in the recruitment and management of volunteers
  • Some knowledge of Volunteer organisations and their operations
  • A “can-do” attitude and a motivated self starter with skills to tackle all aspects of running the volunteer services across the Southern Region
  • Sensitivity to the needs of a client base with diverse cultural needs and expectations.
  • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers , c orrections staff and other key stakeholders;
  • It is expected that you will have a high level of competency in MS office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint

 

This role is challenging and diverse and requires the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and groups. This is a permanent position (40 hours per week).
