Full Time, Permanent Position – Monday -Friday from 8am till 4.30pm

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our busy Reliability team at Balclutha, South Island. The primary purpose of this role is to help the site meet key KPI's by improving plant reliability. The successful candidate will be a critical member of the Production unit and continuous improvement leadership team, focused on driving continuous improvement on a line or group of lines within the facility. The other main task would be to educate maintenance and production teams on reliability strategies. Flexibility is a key point as work hours may differ during maintenance days and winter shut May be required to work longer hours during maintenance day (once a month 6am till 6pm). Longer hours may be required during annual maintenance shut (2-3 weeks)



  • Establish asset management system using Reliability Centered Maintenance, FMECA and Preventative maintenance optimization strategies.
  • Analyse reliability data to help diagnose potential equipment failures
  • Lead continuous improvement program to help eliminate repeat failures. Being part of technical problem-solving group.
  • Work with the maintenance and project teams to create and implement engineering and precision maintenance standards
  • Train maintenance technicians in carry out precision maintenance procedures
  • Reduce store inventory through standardization of plant equipment
  • Help establish condition monitoring program



  • New Zealand Certificate in Mechanical Engineering Advanced (Level 5) or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • 7- 10 years’ experience in an industrial environment with proven record of improving plant reliability and performance
  • Experience with continuous improvement
  • Advanced Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis aptitude
  • Must be a change catalyst with strong communication and time management skills. Most importantly, be a team player!
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills



  • Experience in Continuous improvement of plant reliability
  • Experience in creation of applicable engineering/precision maintenance standards
  • Immense experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders in a production facility.
