To this role you will bring at least two years of post-graduate experience within New Zealand and a commitment to make a difference in the lives of others. Based in the on-site health centre you will become part of a small supportive team of like-minded health care professionals.
To be considered for one of these exciting opportunities you will have a Bachelor of Nursing qualification and 1 years’ clinical experience in a primary healthcare setting. Based at Otago Corrections Facility healthcare centre you will become part of a diverse and supportive team of health care professionals. While you would be appointed to this area there would be an opportunity for you to have a focus on male primary health care.
This role has 2 key components; holding clinics within the health centre which operates on an appointment-based triage system and completing medication rounds within the facility. This is a truly unique opportunity where you will be involved in the many aspects of general practice including assessment, treatment planning and implementing plans of care.

As a professional you are open to working within a multicultural environment, you have a certain robustness while respecting others’ backgrounds. An understanding of culturally appropriate delivery of health services to Maori is important.
You are confident and competent in your clinical ability, self-managing and happy to work independently. You will be a NZ registered nurse who is confident working with patients who may present with complex health issues.
The health centre operates a rostered shift system over 7 days from 6.30am – 8.00pm so flexibility is needed and there is also an on call after hour’s component to the afternoon shift.
