Danone Nutricia Early Life Nutrition produces specialty foods for infants and young children, with a commitment to ethical business practice in the marketing of infant milk formulas in compliance with the aims of the World Health Organisation (WHO) code and local country legislation. In Australia & New Zealand our brands include the Karicare and Aptamil ranges of infant formulas and supplementary foods for toddlers. 

Located in the beautiful vista of Greenfield, just 20 minutes from Balclutha in the South Otago region, Danone Nutrition Early Life Nutrition's NZ spray drying plant employs state of art European technology to manufacture and package high quality nutritional powders. 

The Role (12 months Fixed Term) 

We have one fixed term position available in our Laboratory. This is a fixed term full time position, possibility for job share, covering maternity leave. In this position we are looking for the right attitude and the rest can be taught, experience is an advantage. This could be a good opportunity for a graduate with limited Laboratory experience.

As a member of our busy Laboratory team, you will be involved in all aspects of sample handling, sample log-in, collating and reporting results, as well as purchasing for the department. 

Your Responsibilities 

  • Collect and sort samples received by the laboratory 
  • Sample raw material, semi-finished goods and finished product samples as per submission sheet or sampling plan 
  • Calibrate and troubleshoot analytical instruments 
  • Assist with verification and validation of chemical and physical test methods 
  • Ensure adherence to methods and quality procedures and systems as per ISO 17025:2005 
  • Complete work under GLP, GMP and GHP guidelines 
  • Participate in projects, internal audits as assigned 
  • Other duties as required to fulfil the primary objective of promoting quality and food safety within Danone Nutricia Laboratory 
  • Flexibility to work afternoon and weekend shift.

  • Bachelors in science preferably in chemistry  
  • High level of accuracy and sense of urgency
