We have an outstanding opportunity to join the PowerNet team in the exciting and rewarding role of Apprentice Substation Maintainer/Electrician based out of our Balclutha depot located on Charlotte Street.
In this role you will be responsible for assisting with substation inspections, planned maintenance upgrades of network assets and fault response, performed under the supervision of our other experienced employees.
The equipment you will be working with is PowerNet’s 66 kV - 11 kV network equipment and 415 V distribution equipment, which includes transformers / circuit breakers/ protection / SCADA / substation services and cables.
You will also work towards your Electrical Registration specialising in Electricity Supply.
Experience/Knowledge and Skills:
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual. You need to be confident, have a good level of fitness, be a team player and a positive contributor - especially with our safety systems. Your commitment and strong communication will see you do well in the industry along with a pragmatic, flexible and adaptable approach.
