Bigger and better and lots of family fun was how the organiser summed up this great event....
A couple of hundred people turned out for the festival which sums up the fantastic community spirit in Lawrence ( there are only about 400 people who live in the area).
The Mayor was on hand to help out and join in the celebrations.
There were a number of workshops leading up to the event to teach folks how to make the best lantern which also proved a real success.
Anne Cheng who worked tirelessly to make it happen says she's already planning for next year's festival which ties in with the Chinese Autumn Festival highlighting the town's Chinese connections.
It's going to be before the clocks go forward Anne says, which means it will be dark right from the start so you will be able to just go with the glow!
